FOOD SHARE PROGRAM

The goal of the Food Share Program is to make it easier for people to have nutritious, adequate diets and to help individuals and families who have little money or savings to buy food. The Manitowoc County Human Services agency administers the Food Share Program.

Food share cards are used just like a credit card at designated neighborhood stores. Most grocery stores and markets participate in the Food Share Program. Food share cards cannot be used to buy alcoholic beverages, tobacco or cigarettes, soap and paper products, pet food or any other non-food items. Food share cards may only be used to pay for food and for plants and seeds for home food gardens.
